The Remington Orange offers sophistication and a level of service that is hard to beat. The building is sleek, with an intricate design that’s beautiful to look at. That, coupled with the greenery planted along the exterior walls, brings a feeling of freshness to the entire building.
Featuring modern, spacious rooms, The Remington offers everything you need for a leisure or business trip. The various room types include those that are better suited for couples and others that can sleep a family of four – and they’re all soundproof so you won’t be disturbed by your neighbours.
Whitney’s, the onsite bar and restaurant, is a hit amongst guests so don’t give it a skip. Cosy up by the fire on a cold winter’s day, order a few local beers on tap or treat yourself to a delicious, beautifully presented meal.
Although this hotel is a touch more affordable than the other luxury hotels in Orange, the service and quality are not compromised.
Things to consider
There’s not much to fault about The Remington. The only reservation you may have is that it’s a bit further from the city centre than other hotels in Orange.
- Location: Walking distance to restaurants and shops
- Best for: Bigger groups or families
Quest Orange is one of the best hotels in Orange if you’re in search of accommodation that has it all. These serviced apartments come complete with modern, clean-cut décor giving them a new, classy feel and are perfectly located in the centre of Orange.
The hotel offers beautiful city and mountain views, best enjoyed from the rooftop area or your private balcony.
Quest has a variety of apartments available including studios, one, two, and three-bedroom condos. Each comes fitted with a kitchenette and are perfect for families looking for a relaxed and comfortable stay with all the conveniences of home. You can even bring your furry friends along as the hotel is pet friendly.
With a fitness centre, laundry facilities, and laptop-friendly workspaces, you could easily extend your stay! And after meeting the awesome staff, I’m sure you’ll want to.
Things to consider
While Quest has just about everything you’ll need, there isn’t an onsite restaurant. If you’re happy to make your own food in your kitted out kitchen or pop over to one of the many restaurants down the road, this shouldn’t be a problem.
- Location: Conveniently located close to Byng Street
- Best for: Couples or single travellers
With retro patterns and colours throughout and a beautiful garden setting alongside the pool, The Oriana is one of the best hotels in Orange for a relaxing weekend getaway.
This fabulous art deco building has a fun, lively atmosphere to it that’s done in a way that is luxurious and inviting.
The 4-star property offers a mix of room types – standard, superior, family, and deluxe. These are all spacious and comfortable, with much thought and consideration going into the décor and artwork. The rooms are warm and cosy for those freezing Orange nights and the thoughtful touches of real tea leaves, ground coffee and a French press don’t go unnoticed.
But there’s more to The Oriana hotel than just the comfortable rooms – The chick bar is a great place to socialize and The Peacock Room restaurant serves up delicious, mouth-watering food.
The outdoor garden boasts a fire pit and fairy lights and is popular amongst guests wanting to cosy up alongside the fire on a cold winter’s eve.
The extra little touches and friendly staff go a long way in enhancing the guest experience. Final thoughts? The Oriana is definitely getting it right.
Things to consider
It’s hard to criticise this spot! The rooms and guest facilities have recently been upgraded and refurbished – so most of the negative commentary is no longer relevant.
- Location: In the city centre with bars, restaurants and shops nearby
- Best for: Business travellers
Mercure Orange is conveniently located in the heart of Orange, making it the perfect place to stay for business or leisure. With direct access to the entire Orange Ex-Services’ Club complex, (including the Diggers Brasserie, All Seasons Coffee Shop and a leisure centre), this hotel has everything you need, right at your fingertips!
Stepping inside, guests can enjoy the high level of quality that you’d expect from a hotel that is part of the Accor Group. It’s modern with beautiful wood finishes and black and white artwork throughout.
This sophisticated atmosphere is carried from the public areas to the guest rooms. The Deluxe King Suite is the perfect size for two people and there are also triple rooms available if you’re travelling with kids. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms have a charming, understated design.
Toiletries are provided and tea/coffee stations are available in all rooms, some even offering their own fully equipped kitchens.
Things to Consider
The Mercure Orange is part of a big hotel chain. If you’d prefer to stay at a boutique hotel in Orange, this may not be the right choice for you.
- Location: A short drive from the main shopping area
- Best for: Travellers looking for an affordable place to stay in Orange
If you’re in search of a hotel in Orange that won’t break the bank, take a look at The Best Western Plus Ambassador. This modern, 4-star hotel is situated just off the main road and you can’t fault the simplistic and neat design – whether it be the layout, guest areas, room arrangement, or décor.
The property is beautifully spaced out and includes a gorgeous pool surrounded by large trees. Their on-site restaurant, Relish, is convenient for guests considering the hotel is not within walking distance from the main area in town.
The Best Western Plus Ambassador Orange offers oversized rooms with views of the pool area, garden, or courtyard. If you’re travelling with your family, this is a great option as the rooms are incredibly spacious. The large, comfortable beds, with their bright coloured throws and cushions, add pops of colour to the space.
Each room offers tea/coffee stations, a fridge and even a microwave. Rooms on the second floor are only accessible by stairs so if you’re not a fan tackling the stairs, perhaps request a ground floor room when making your reservation.
Staff are friendly and happy to go the extra mile to assist you. The hotel doesn’t offer all the bells and whistles that you will receive from one of the more expensive hotels in Orange, but you will be comfortable and well looked after here.
Things to Consider
The Best Western Plus Ambassador Orange is by no means one of the most luxurious hotels in Orange. But it’s a budget-friendly option if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable stay.
- Location: Situated in Orange’s Heritage precinct
- Best for: Travellers who want the best bang for their buck
The Central Caleula Motor Lodge offers a real slice of Orange’s heritage. The building boasts beautiful stained-glass windows accompanied by new age, modern décor. The business has been owned and operated by the same family for 30 years and has built a reputation of warm hospitality and unique experience.
Being so close to the centre of town, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink. But there’s no need to leave the front door as the Central Caleula Lodge offers an on-site bar and restaurant (and even a pool).
It’s the perfect place to stay in Orange for families, friends or solo travellers. The rooms have recently been refurbished and a select few even have underfloor heating – perfect for those freezing Orange days. Air-conditioning and fans are also provided and additional appliances are available upon request.
The staff pride themselves on warm, friendly hospitality. If you’re looking for a hotel that delivers way above its grading and gives you the best value for your money, look no further than The Central Caleula Motor Lodge. No doubt one of the best budget hotels in Orange.
Things to consider
A tip when making your reservation – request a room that isn’t on the main road as traffic can be noisy.
At first glance, you may be wondering why I’ve listed the Town Square Motel as the best hotel in Orange for budget travellers – because the prices seem pretty consistent with other properties on this list!
But take a closer look and you’ll notice that they offer large double and single rooms for half the price of some of their other options. So, what’s the catch? Well, these don’t come with an ensuite bathroom and guests make use of shared ablution facilities.
So, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families travelling with young children, but for a single traveller or a couple, it’s a bargain. The location is hard to beat, and the onsite pub and restaurant are packed with character.
When it comes to the rooms, they’re basic but clean, cosy and comfortable. There are also room options with ensuite bathrooms so take a look at those as well if you’re willing to spend a bit more for additional privacy.
Things to consider
If you’re on a tight budget and just looking for a place to rest your head while exploring beautiful Orange, then this is your best bet. Overall, the Town Square Motel and Metropolitan Hotel isn’t anything fancy but with the welcoming, friendly staff, you can’t go wrong.
